Amos Jenkins survived a terrible accident in the mines, while everyone else who was with him at the time died. In the small town where they live, the tragedy of that accident still hangs over the residents like a cloud, and Amos is haunted by the fact that he know it wasn't as accidental as everyone thinks. Owen, the son of one of the deceased miners, believes that there is more to the story and embarks on a mission to find out, while Amos finds his life intersecting with that of Owen's mother, Diane, as they try to find him.
