Ida is a 2013 film about a young nun who is ordered to visit her family one last time before she takes her vows. The film takes place in 1960's Poland. While visiting her Aunt Wanda, a prosecutor and supporter of the Stalinist regime, the soon-to-be nun discovers that her name, which she had thought was Anna, is actually Ida, and her real mother and father were Jews who died during World War II. When Ida decides she wants to find their graves, she and Wanda go on a trip of discovery where Ida discovers her past and learns how to live with her present.
