Hank Hill is the patriarch and leader of his family and neighborhood in Texas. An old fashioned conservative kind of man, Hank has a lot to deal with. The fact that Hank has a wife who is a bit more liberal and progressive than Hank would like is his first of many issues. His son continues to be a disappointment at every turn, especially when it comes to football which is one of Hanks obsessions along with propane and his dog Ladybird. At the same time Hank is a disappointment to his hard living WWII vet father. He must also take leadership responsibilities for his life long friends in the neighborhood who include the conspiracy theorist Dale, the love lorn army barber Bill, and neighborhood Casanova and car enthusiast Boomhauer. Hank sells propane by day, but he seems to spend the rest of his time dealing with a family that seems to be fighting him at every turn or bailing his buddies out of their latest problem.
