Alicia Florrick has put her successful law career on hold to support her two children and her husband's burgeoning political career. After a conviction for corruption and a scandal involving his solicitation of multiple prostitutes sends him to jail and disgraces their family, Alicia must return to the work force in order to support her children, and put on a good face while she supports her husband through his disgraceful downfall. Florrick is given a job offer at the law firm that is run by her old flame and law school friend, where she must compete with other first-year associates who are fresh out of school. Though she is nearly a generation ahead of her cohorts, she must compete with them while managing the public image of the supportive wife and the role of a working mother for two active teens. As she decides what to do with her unfaithful husband, the sexual tension between herself and her old flame and senior partner at her firm makes it even more difficult to remain the good wife.
