"Veep" takes you on a tour of the Vice President's daily life. The view is not very pretty from several blocks away. Selina Meyer became the Vice President with her chief-of-staff, Amy, in tow. With big dreams about changing the world for the better, Selina finds most of her programs on hold as a result of competition with the President's agenda. Her Director of Communications, Mike McLintock, works along with newcomer, Dan Egan, to boost Meyer's image and her policies at the same time. At Meyer's ear is Gary Walsh, official VP aide. Tasked with a large bag, deemed "The Leviathan," Gary provides Meyer with every conceivable need, from a cup of tea to hairspray. With her dream team of smart political aides, Meyer dives into the Washington D.C. pool of bureaucratic nonsense and tries to surface with results. In the wings is her long-struggling daughter and ex-husband, vying for some attention as Meyer dreams of the ultimate position: being President.
