Olympus Has Fallen begins when the motorcade of the President of the United States is involved in an accident on an icy December road. Secret Service Agent Banning is able to save the President before his car slips off the icy bridge, but the President's wife and two other Secret Service Agents die in the accident. The film flashes forward to eighteen months after the accident. A group of North Korean terrorists have planned an attack on the White House, eventually taking control of the building, and holding the President hostage. With the President in his custody, the leader of the North Korean terrorists tries to gain the access codes to detonate every nuclear weapon in the US arsenal. A bloody counter attack, led by Agent Banning tries to recapture control of the White House and save the President. Banning is eventually able to infiltrate the White House and kill the head of the North Korean terrorists, restoring the President to power in the United States.
