Retired detective Alexa Crowe isn't the type to allow a case to go unsolved even when she's supposed to be taking a break from crime. She can never say no to a good mystery. Not many people know exactly why Alexa left the Melbourne Police Department and gave up police work other than the fact that her husband passed away. When a friend and former colleague asks her to become a consultant to the force, she hesitantly decides to give it a go. She's even assigned an assistant and data analyst, Madison, to help act as a bridge between her methods and those of the department. Given Alexa's unique style of police work and personality, some wonder just how long her job as a consultant can last before she's asked politely to find a different line of work.
