In 1944, an American flight lieutenant is tasked with the dangerous mission of potentially saving the lives of 1200 pilots of the Eighth Air Force. With only a few hours to spare, the pilot must obtain photographic proof that the Americans could be flying on a suicidal mission over Germany. The odds of success are long and the obstacles are many. Even so, the flight lieutenant must achieve this task completely alone in an unarmed Spitfire plane.
