This series follows the relationship that forms between Ava, a young comedy writer, and Deborah, a once-legendary comedian. When Deborah learns that the Las Vegas casino where she regularly performs is cutting several of her shows, she realizes that she will have to develop new material to stay relevant. Ava, amid backlash from an offensive joke she posted online, is struggling to find work as a writer. At the behest of their shared manager, the two women reluctantly agree to work together to modernize Deborah's act.
