?Hero Dog: The Journey Home,? follows the story of a blind man who becomes shipwrecked and is led to safety by an Alaskan Malamute dog named Chinook. Meanwhile, a rescue mission is undertaken by the authorities. Additionally, the blind man?s children go on their own private search for their father. Chinook helps the blind man face the dangers of the wilderness by being his eyes and guiding him throughout rugged landscapes that the man would otherwise struggle to transverse. Chinook also protects the man from harm by defending him against the animals and predators that lurk in the wilderness.
