Two brothers play for a high school baseball team in a small town in the American south. Their dad happens to be the coach of the team. His toxic masculinity pressures the boys to excel on the field which takes the fun out of the game. One of the brothers is the star player while the other is a screw-up, but he only plays poorly to irritate his father. A classmate, Caroline, hangs out with the boys. She might be the love interest for one, both or neither in this moody coming-of-age story in a small South Carolina town.
