A homeless military veteran finds a place to stay in a dilapidated house in the country that is occupied by a mysterious woman and overseen by a nun. An elderly woman in torment from a mysterious affliction lives in the upstairs bedroom, and the house is infected with a strange black moldy substance. When the man encounters increasingly frightening situations in the house, the occupants suggest that he is free to go, but he is oddly compelled to stay even though the consequences of doing so become increasingly terrifying.
