In The Protege, contract killer Anna sees Moody, the man who rescued her when she was a child, brutally murdered. Moody taught Anna everything she knows, and she vows to use her skills to revenge his murder. During her investigation into an assignation Moody completed years ago, Anna meets a mysterious man called Rembrandt, who warns her to back off. She refuses to back off and develops a complex relationship with Rembrandt.
