Adapted from Jennifer Worth's memoirs, this historical drama follows midwives and families in 1950s and 1960s London. Jenny, a new nurse, begins work at Nonnatus House, alongside a group of caring, but funny, nuns. Although it is much different than the hospital job she was expecting, due to being in the slums, Jenny begins to love her coworkers, gain an appreciation for her profession and learn more about those she treats while encountering ups, downs and plenty of romance. The show features historically accurate costumes, props and storylines, as well as an ensemble cast of actors from across Great Britain.
