On the planet of Krypton the grandfather of the boy who will come to be known as Superman is struggling to reclaim the family name after a series of decisions that have cast the family patriarch Seg-El as a delusional doomsayer. Seg-El must convince the citizens of Krypton that his visions of the planet's demise are real. This is the only way that he can hope to preserve a world for his grandson Kal-El, a child destined to become Earth's Superman.
