In this animated adventure set in New York City, a Middle School band director finds himself unsatisfied with his humdrum existence. Instead of teaching music, he longs to play piano in a jazz ensemble. He finally gets his chance to play a real gig in a jazz club when an accident separates his soul from his body. Instead of entering the afterlife, the musician finds himself in the Great Before, an otherworldly training ground for new souls. With the help of an innocent companion, the musician begins an epic quest to rejoin his body and reignite his passion for music.
