Taking place in the fictional perilous city of Metropolis, Supergirl follows the story of Kara Zor-El, as one of the last survivors of the distant planet Krypton. Reaching its final moments of destruction from an exhaustion of resources, she was sent in a space craft after her cousin Kal-El, to Earth. Upon her arrival, she discovers that the titular Kal-El has grown to become one of Earth?s champions and has taken the mantle of Superman. This inspires her to embark on a journey to define herself beyond her cousin?s shadow and help defend Metropolis from imminent disasters while fostering a career in journalism and protecting the ones she loves as the indestructible girl of steel, Supergirl.
