Brilliant Eve Polastri loves her job as an agent of the British MI5 security services, but she wishes that she could do more since most of the time she's treated like a glorified office assistant. Eve has an obsessive interest in assassins. When a few new violent deaths point to the possibility of an unknown female killer on the loose, Eve finds herself finally able to go into the field and chase her obsession. Brilliant Villanelle has anything a psychopath and assassin might need, including plenty of targets and enough money to afford whatever her heart desires. Yet, Villanelle's life is a lonely one until she crosses paths with Eve. Both women know how they must play the game when their separate hunts for each other begin, but their need for something more in life soon leads them to an entirely unexpected conclusion.
