When former Pokemon trainer Justice Smith's father goes missing after a car crash, he enlists the help of his father's former partner, Detective Pikachu. Justice finds that he alone can understand Detective Pikachu, so the two become grudging partners in the search for Justice's father. While digging up clues about Justice's missing father, the unlikely pair uncovers clues to a sinister plot plaguing Ryme City that threatens the existence of the entire Pokemon world.
