Still reeling from the loss of Gamora, the Guardians of the Galaxy must rally to defend the universe and one of their own. A mission that could mean the end of the Guardians if not successful. The film follows the Guardians as they embark on a mission to protect Rocket from the High Evolutionary, a mad scientist who created Rocket and implanted a kill switch in him. The Guardians must race against time to find the override code and save Rocket's life. Along the way, the Guardians will face new challenges and threats, including the Sovereign, a race of aliens who are determined to destroy them. But the Guardians are a family, and they will do whatever it takes to protect each other.
