Since childhood, 17-year-old Katie Price has been unable to spend even a moment in the sunlight. Due to a rare disease that causes her to become increasingly sensitive to the sun's rays, she has remained completely housebound during the daytime. Behind special windows, she secretly watches Charlie skateboard past her house for years and develops a crush that she's too scared to act on. Until one night, when she ventures out to play her guitar, and the two finally meet. As their summertime romance grows, filled with nighttime meetings, so does Katie's life-threatening sensitivity to sunlight, and she's ultimately faced with the question of whether she can have a normal relationship with her condition.
