Wendy, a young woman who has autism, needs help with her daily needs. She lives in a group home with caretakers who help her meet those needs. Her atypical neurology does nothing to dull her ambition, however. She's written a Star Trek screenplay that she hopes will be produced and leaves her group home unattended on a quest to have her Star Trek project made. Along the way, Wendy runs into numerous obstacles that she must learn to overcome.
