Rookie reporter Claire shadows her more experienced colleague Phil around New York City in pursuit of a story on a possible murder case. Along the way, they meet the wacky residents of the city, like music lover Bene, a man on an epic quest to find the perfect vinyl. His roommate Ray is learning the evils of the internet, even as teenager Wendy begins to question her sexuality. Meanwhile, Claire and Phil are one step away from Jimmy the watchmaker, who holds the key that can solve a mysterious death.
