"The Middle" is a situational comedy about the Hecks, a middle-class family of five who lives in Indiana. The matriarch of the family, Frankie, wants nothing more to have children who love her and allow her to watch her shows in private. The father, Mike, is tall, stoic, and straightforward. Their three children, Sue, Axl, and Brick, deal not only with the day-to-day operations of their family but their goings-on in school. No matter what the situation, all of them know they can rely on each other when problems come up.
