"The Orville" is a one-hour, science fiction dramedy about the daily adventures of a space exploration craft. It's captain Ed Mercer, a Planetary Union officer who is down on his luck after a horrible divorce. Once he gets command of his ship he realizes his ex-wife is his first officer, Kelly Grayson. The crew he assembles for his spacecraft includes his best friend Gordon as his helmsman, artificial life-form Issac, and Bortus, an alien from a single-sex race. The program mixes humor, action, and seriousness.
