Following the untimely death of his wife, Sheriff Walt Longmire dedicates virtually every hour to keeping residents of Absaroka County, Wyoming, safe. He tries to hide his grief from his opponents, deputies, and his adult daughter. As Absaroka County borders tribal lands, he must rely on the assistance of his friend Henry Standing Bear to help with tentative Native American relations. Despite it all, Longmire forms lasting friendships that help solidify neighbors in his county and make sure that when crimes occur, they?re resolved as quickly as possible.
