A loosely biographical look at Pablo Escobar, Colombia's famous drug lord and mastermind, told from the point of view of an undercover DEA agent whose assignment is to bring Escobar to justice. Escobar's humble beginnings to the pinnacle of his success and his eventual downfall in prison are rendered against a backdrop that spans the 1970s to the 1990s. Together with the on-location setting, the series brings alive this turbulent era of Colombian history. The dialog features a healthy dose of Colombian Spanish for a touch of realism, and high-action scenes keep the pacing tight and the plot cohesive.
