Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper, two physicists working at Caltech, share an apartment together. Along with their workmates Howard Wolowitz and Rajesh Koothrappali, the two share a love of science, comic books, video games, and all things nerdy. When Penny, an aspiring actress, moves in to the apartment across the hall, Leonard is smitten. He decides to win Penny over despite his lack of experience with women and Sheldon's lack of tact. As the two get to know each other, they grow as people.
