8.0The idea that the U.S. government could be engaging in illegal surveillance of citizens came to the forefront a few years ago when an anonymous whistle-blower calling himself Citizenfour started releasing information. The reporters he released that information to were Laura Poitras, Glenn Greenwald and Ewen MacAskill. For months, the trio was receiving anonymous information about the NSA's allegedly illegal activities. Finally, the trio set out to Hong Kong to meet their source and discuss details. Their source turned out to be the infamous Edward Snowden and Poitras used her video camera to capture the entire story as it unfolded.
