The McCarthys is a comedy about the quintessential close knit Irish-Catholic, Boston family. The gregarious father, Arthur, lives and breathes to coach high school basketball. All but one of his children follows in his athletically competitive footsteps. When it comes time to choose a coach's assistant, it's black sheep, gay son, Ronny who Arthur chooses to take under his wing, much to the chagrin of this other children. Ronny however, receives and opportunity to take a job in Rhode Island, which would make him the first and only of his parent's children to leave the nest. No matter what Ronnie decides, it will change the lives of all his family members.
