Castle is a crime-drama television series. The premise is about a crime novelist name Richard Castle with writer's block being needed to consult on murders mirroring those in his past books. Castle becomes fascinated by the detective on the case, Kate Beckett. He uses his association with the Mayor to get himself assigned to Beckett's squad as a consultant on her homicide investigations. Beckett becomes Castles inspiration for his next series of books, so stays with the team for research purposes. At first annoyed with a writer following her around, Beckett eventually realizes Castle's value as a team member.
