Based in the small Amish town of Banshee, Pennsylvania, "Banshee" tells the story of a mysterious criminal who spent time behind bars. He steals the identity of a man named Lucas Hood, who had formerly been the sheriff of Banshee before he was murdered. He takes on this new identity in an effort to hide from a crime boss named Rabbit who wants him dead. The series follows Hood as he tries to repair his relationship with his ex-girlfriend, who just happens to also be Rabbit's daughter. Hood finds it hard to prevent people from finding out who he really is. He also occasionally returns to his criminal ways with two of his old partners.
