Rachel Bailey and Janet Scott are police partners as well as friends even though they are very different. Bailey struggles to find love with a married man named Nick while Scott has been married for many years. When Rachel is dumped by her lover, she moves in with Janet and her family. Rachel doesn't stay long, but it proves that Janet and Rachel have a friendship beyond their partnership. That both women find a measure of comfort in each other. Although the women have sometimes chaotic home lives, they come together to solve murders as professionally as they possibly can. They support each other in their partnership and in their friendship too.
