After the death of her mother, a 15-year-old girl continues to pursue her parent?s passion for treating neglected horses. Having been apart from her father since an early age, she and her sister become reliant on their grandfather for guidance. Managing the daily operations of a horse sanctuary proves to be a challenging endeavor in light of their loss, but the sisters are able to continue their mother?s legacy with the support of a wide social network. The central character successfully assumes her deceased mother?s role as a horse therapist. Alternative therapies are utilized to treat skittish horses. The reintroduction to her father after many years of absence adds a positive relationship in the aftermath of her mother?s death. The two sisters learn they have a younger half brother. As the girl is transformed into a young woman, a romantic relationship develops with an employee at the horse ranch. Mutual interest in the welfare of horses provides common ground for numerous family friends.
