6.3Sophie is a lovely young student and pianist who hails from the United Kingdom. She visits a tiny upstate New York community for a foreign exchange program. Her hosts are the Reynolds family. The Reynolds family is made up of wife Megan, husband Keith and daughter Lauren. Megan talks a lot and enjoys acquiring new cookie jars. Keith teaches high school, plays the cello and has a stern and solemn demeanor. Young Lauren has a nervous personality and is about go away to college. She's also a talented swimmer. Sophie, on the other hand, not only is gorgeous, but also is extremely composed and enigmatic. Keith begins to experience desire for the much younger Brit, which partially is the result of his own dissatisfaction with life. Lauren starts to develop a rivalry with Sophie. This rivalry intensifies when Lauren's cocky ex-boyfriend very nearly rapes Sophie. Sophie's presence has a massive effect on the Reynolds clan, ultimately changing their interactions with each other. This, in turn, permanently changes them as people.
