Poetry professor Richard Haig left Cambridge for Los Angeles to have fun in the sun. He parties hard and sleeps with students, and his devil may care, playboy lifestyle suits him just fine until one day, he falls for his beautiful, brilliant colleague. Haig decides to mend his ways and end his relationships with undergrad Misty and grad student Kate to pursue her. Unfortunately, he decides this just as Kate discovers that she's pregnant. One surprise follows another when he learns that she just so happens to be the sister of the woman who has convinced him to settle down at last!
