Officer Kiera Cameron lives a normal life with husband and son in Vancouver, 2077. However, the North American Union's Corporate Congress has created a police state where citizens are subjected to a technological high surveillance. Liber8, anarchy socialists headed by Edouard Kagame escape execution and return back to 2012. Kiera is also transported with the so-called freedom fighters back into the past. Kiera joins forces with the Vancouver Police Department, Detective Carlos Fonnegra and Alec Sadler, a teen computer whiz, to find and stop Liber8 and its followers in present day. However, Kiera must also conceal from everyone her identity as having traveled from the future. Kagame and Liber8 plot to change the past and stop the impending dictatorial corporate regime from taking over. Kiera finds out that Alec is actually future CEO of SadTech, a huge conglomerate set in 2077 to dominate the world. As Kiera fights to return home, she finds that the presence of Liber8 and herself in 2012 could have been planned all along.
