Dr. Mindy Lahiri is an obstetrician/gynecologist who lives in New York City. She runs a practice with two other doctors, men who seem to have special talents for getting on her nerves. One is Dr. Jeremy Reed, a dapper and slightly smarmy British emigrant. The other is the jocular Danny Castellano. Danny apparently likes Mindy, but he has a habit of putting her down and finding fault with the choices that she makes. Perhaps this behavior represents tough love on Danny's part. This medical office also employs a high-strung receptionist named Betsy, a criminal-turned-nurse named Morgan, and Tamra, a gossipy nurse with a poor work ethic. Despite the frustrations with which her colleagues present her, Mindy?s strongest concerns revolve around her personal life. Mindy, who is divorced, has a persistent fear that she?ll end up living alone for the rest of her days. Making matters worse, her social calendar is replete with awkward dates and relationships that sputter.
