In 1958, Ike Evans owns the hotel Miramar Playa. It's a glamorous, glitzy hotel in Miami. As he's about to ring in the new year of 1959, his employees are threatening to unionize. A concert is planned with Frank Sinatra in his hotel, and Evans sees his plans going up in smoke. Ben Diamond, a mob boss who runs Miami offers him a way to deal with his unruly employees, but it will involve a continued relationship with Diamond. Ike's son becomes involved with Lily who is Diamond's new wife. Ike has to deal with a DA who wants to use him to fight organized crime, government officials and Diamond while trying to keep his hotel successful. Stevie continues to see Lily even after finding out who she is while managing the Atlantis Lounge in his father's hotel.
