Shameless follows the struggles of a mostly-dysfunctional family as they try to survive growing up in Chicago. While left to their own devices due to an alcoholic father who constantly schemes to earn enough for his next drink, the six kids of the Gallagher clan must fend for themselves. Guided by the stressed-out hand of oldest sister Fiona, the family is forced to scrape by through their own cooperation, and sometimes via radical schemes. The family constantly toes the line between being criminals and hard-working urban survivalist to pay the bills and put food on the table. Laced with dark humor and poignant moments, Shameless weaves through individual family members? story lines while also focusing on the impact father Frank?s vices have on all of them. With the help of some creative money-making plots, the family is able to find hope and love even in the face of some trying situations. Most of all, they're never ashamed to survive.
