There is an unexplained outbreak of a zombie virus, with thousands of the undead rising from graves and morgues. Patrick and his daughter are trapped in a shed trying to keep safe from the rampaging zombies. Meanwhile, Birdie is trapped inside of her house while caring for her disabled mother. Many other characters also try to escape the zombies, as some neighbors wait out the virus in a panic room and others attempt to flee the attacks. Fortunately, a local news station reveals that the zombies return to their graves at sunrise. This gives the humans an opportunity to form a plan of attack for their survival.
