Grey?s Anatomy is an American medical drama revolving around surgical interns and residents at Seattle Grace Hospital. Meredith Grey is the main character married to neurosurgeon Derek Shepard and opens each installment with a voice over indicating the theme of the episode. The storylines not only focus on the medicine, but the personal relationships the interns and residents develop with their peers. Most of the drama is relationship based with Meredith?s best friend once being married to the Chief of Surgery Owen Hunt and other interns and residents navigate through friendly or sexual relationships which causes conflict in their professional and personal lives. The day usually starts with the patients being diagnosed, which in turn leads to an intricate surgery. The doctors are very competitive and compete to perform ground breaking research and complex surgeries. The episode concludes with another voice installment from Meredith narrating the day?s event in a life lesson.
