The series follows a youthful OB/GYN, Mindy Lahiri, as she struggles to balance her work life and her personal life. The show also deals with Mindy's interactions with the silly, supporting cast of characters. A large focus is on the romantic chemistry between Mindy and Danny Castellano, a fellow OB/GYN that works in her same office. There is an underlying element of "Will they/Won't they" that is present in many other sitcoms. Mindy and Danny have obvious sexual tension that both characters refuse to acknowledge, so they stick with pursuing other romantic interests in the meantime.
