Christopher and John Ross are the latest generation of a family of oil tycoons and cattle ranchers in Texas. Their fathers, Bobby and JR, are brothers who have bitterly fought each other for decades to control the destiny of the Ewing family. JR is a man consumed with greed, wishing to make money at any cost. His brother Bobby has always been more thoughtful. He has always been a man who sees the big picture, and he bases his decisions on what will be best for the SouthFork ranch and the Ewing family in the long-run. Their sons are very similar to their fathers. Christopher follows his dad?s vision of guiding the SouthFork ranch safely into the future. John Ross wants to make money now at any cost, and he is not worried about tomorrow. Additionally, Christopher wants the family to invest in alternative energy, which is a thorn in the side of the oil-loving John Ross. These two seem determined to carry on the feud that has consumed their fathers all of their lives.
