Back in the early 1970s, the first theatrical and scripted feature film, Deep Throat, stunned audiences and made Linda Lovelace a star. This was before the internet and the wide acceptance of porn, and the woman who starred in the film became a household name. Her background involved a strict religious family, but she gained freedom with her love affair and marriage to a personable hustler named Chuck Traynor. Known internationally for her unbounded capacities in regard to sex, she became the ideal of the new sexuality sweeping the country and the hedonism and uninhibited voice that was being heard. Beneath it all, however, was a darker story, revealed six years later, in what led her to eventually take control of her life. Lovelace captures the ups and downs as well as surprises of the porn industry that were part of the sexual revolution.
