When the Fitzgerald family patriarch promises to return home to the family Christmas after abandoning his children nearly two decades ago, his seven adult children must prepare to handle his arrival after years of anger and resentment towards him for leaving the family. Some of the children are excited to meet him and finally get a chance to connect with a father figure that they never really knew, while some of the older children, who remember their father better, are still very angry at him. The children must come to terms with their own personal issues and crises in their lives in order to accept their father back into their lives.
