6.6In Lila Neugebauer's new drama "Causeway," Jennifer Lawrence ? an Oscar-winning actress, plays Lynsey. In the role, she acts as a military engineer who has returned from Afghanistan with a brain injury caused by an IED explosion. Lynsey has to relearn to walk and regain her memory with the help of a caring caretaker while facing her childhood memories back home in New Orleans.
Despite her desire to return to work, she gets a job cleaning pool, but her doctor is reluctant. When her truck breaks down, James Aucoin, who works at the auto repair shop, offers her a ride home. They begin to depend on one another for companionship and consolation as James copes with past trauma. The budding friendship between these two broken individuals forms the core of Neugebauer's debut feature - a touching and inspiring story of acceptance and moving on.
