Bryant is a middle-aged American with a mysterious and perhaps troubled past who seeks to live in a quiet place away from the turmoil that seems to follow him around. Not long after moving into a small Mexican town not far from the border with the United States, Bryant meets Oscar, a teenage boy who seems to be destined for a turbulent future. Oscar is being recruited by a dangerous drug trafficking cartel, and his destiny seems to be sealed until Bryant steps in. Helping Oscar becomes Bryant's new mission, but he also has to deal with a few issues from his past coming back to haunt him.
