As a teenager, Tara struggles to fit in with her school, the town, and even her father Ben and mother Emily. At issue are the terrifying visions she has been having about a darker side of herself. At the same time Tara is dealing with her issues, the town finds itself caught in the mystery of gruesome axe murders plaguing the area. As a direct descendant of Lizzie Borden, Tara begins to realize there is a connection between her visions, the murders, and her ancestry. This very realization forces her to take a good look at herself and come to grips with the truth.
