A family of vacationers arrives at the White Lotus, a resort in Maui. They are excited to spend their vacation relaxing and exploring the island. Armond, the resort manager, is a recovering drug addict haunted by a traumatic past. This makes him overbearing and pushy with the guests, which frustrates the family. The vacationers learn about the island's culture during their stay. Mark's son, Quinn, develops an interest in local sports, which helps to get him off the screen.
